Get to Max's for great food with uncanny attention to detail. The mother daughter service just do charming. Mom was tough as nails and a blast to talk to and daughter was so sweet!!

This restaurant came recommended by family who had eaten at Max’s 24 years ago and highly recommended by our hotel. The restaurant exceeded our expectations. The welcome was warm and genuine, the service was exceptional and the food was perfect. If you are in Kinsale, do not miss this exceptional family run experience.

First of all, thank you for the service! We came in without a reservation and they squeezed us in. I was so tired and hungry after walking so much to get to city center (from the fort). It’s pricey (€48 per person), but it was absolutely delicious. We had the monkfish and stingray. Mussels for a starter. One of the best foods we had in Ireland.

Had dinner here last night and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in Kinsale.

The food was excellent, but what really stood out was the atmosphere and the way we were looked after. Easy to see why it’s lasted so long. We’ll definitely be back.
